This girl Yusra Mardini was born in darayya syria.
Yuesa Mardini is a Famous swimmer.
She was to scared to go into the pool
Well the other kids swim she would stand at there deep end.
She thought that she could jump into the pool. Then her heart beat started going faster

ReplyDeleteThank you for your blog post! I really enjoyed your recount of Yusra Maldini. Isn't she such a inspiring young women! So courageous and such a fantastic role model! Ka pai on all your effort so far but I've noticed the question says to retell her story. You've missed out on this section:
During her journey to reach safety in a new country, the engine on the boat she was travelling in broke down and Yusra, her sister and two others jumped out of the boat and swam to get help. Her heroic actions saved twenty people’s lives.
Yusra now lives in Germany. In 2016 she was named as part of the Refugee Olympic Team and she swam for this team in the last summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is now training for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
In order to get full points, you need to acknowledge this part of Yusra's story and rewrite it in your own words. It doesn't have to be long, but it should be thoughtful and descriptive. Let us know in the comments when you've edited your post! I can't wait to see what you've come up with!

Hi Liletina! I can tell you've learnt quite a bit about Yursa Mardini when she was growing up, and before her career as a professional swimmer. It's really interesting to see that she wasn't actually a fan of pools, but ended up loving the waters! Do you like swimming? I do it for fun, especially in summer and hot times like these...Great work!

ReplyDeleteI like the information that you have found on Yusra Mardini. I had no idea that she didn't want to go into the pool at first as she is now an amazing swimmer. Did you know that she is going to compete in the Olympics? Keep up the good work.
