Summer Learning Journey ll Art Colouring Book - The NASA Edition ll Kick Start

L.I To use Google Art, to explore to find images, and use our creative thinking.  


For today's task, we did an Art book colouring page, we used different colours to fill up the picture, there were many images we could pick from, ( Many Topics as well ), as example if your wanted to find some space NASA images, just search it up on the search it on search button' I was looking for some NASA photos to colour in, the photo that I coloured in was an picture of an rocket ship launching into space, I picked this image because it really can hooks people into reading my blogpost. I really liked scrolling down, to find more images to colour, this was really fun, I enjoyed doing this task.

Cinquain Poem

 L.I : To create an Cinquain Poem about fornite. 



For the Cinquain Poem, I and Aisea worked collabortivtely, to create an cinquain Poem, about fornites skins, We used nouns,adjectives,verbs(actions words) and One synonym, What I really liked doing was writing an 3 word Cinquain Poem, Powerful,Eyecontact an Peed. This DLO was really intersting to create but also we both knew what we need to do, and understand as we have done this challenge more than once.

Anime

 Title : 6 Sentences Story


L.I : To create a six sentence story and then create an manga comic book about. 



This week we’re still learning about Anime. For my first task I decided to do. I worked with a partner, we both decided to write a story about a good thief. We both also used our searching skills to find images that we can trace to help make the story more interesting and easier to understand. We both worked collaboratively and shared our ideas on what we should do,what we should change and what we should fix to make it better and more detailed for our readers. 


 List Poem 


L.I : To create a List poem about the character we’re writing about. 


This task, we created a DLO about a poem about Roronoa zoro, and for this we wrote a list of poems about him. We also used word hippo to find words that we think are interesting and detailed to explain about the character.  As for that we both knew the structure of the List poem. We both knew which word is better and which one isn't.

Create an Anime Profile

L.I : To create an Anime profile using your desgins. 




This task was creating your own Anime Character, I decied to create Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku Midoriya who is played in the series of My hero Academia, He has a lot of powers, he uses them to protect his family also to make them sure their safe such as his girlfirend as well. He is a boy born on the 15th of July, his heigh is 166cm. He won the 44m sports race in the sports festival.

Did you know that anime manga has been around for more than 100 years. We also really enjoyed defining words we didn't know about. For example we didn't know what censorship means, if you want to learn just have a look at our google doc and google draw to understand more information about manga anime.

This DLO we used to find 20 important words and mad it to 6 words, after that we created we a paragrah explainging the topic that we're writing about. We both used our searching skills to find words that helps explain the topic and makes it more intersting and deatiled.As example Rangi Haira Jaxon Greening, He is an Male Maori that has a lot of amazing art work with customising sneakers.

This morning Miss Sheena joined our online Meet and taught us how to write a Hello/Goodbye poem. This poem shows the contrast between things lockdown made us leave behind and the things lockdown gives us the opportunity to do. I am really goood at poems, as I've already worked with Mrs Sheena before, she also has helped me understand how to structure , what we can see, what type of poem is it.

Iseeme Challenges :

The DLO's showing while scrolling down my blog-post is about the Iseeme Challenges, Iseeme is an website that we learn about, Iseeme is a website that helps you identify who you are and understand your culture and indeitity. We started off by chossing one of the six main topics (Objects , Future , Places , People , and Stories ) . Ancient Olympic Games Presentation

LI: To skim and scan to find facts about the Ancient Olympics and make notes in my own words.





This week, LS2 has been learning about the Anicnet Olympics that happend in the past, LS2 also showed their DLO's to the class to helps others understand the differnt facts and information that we used to build our DLO. Our group also created an screencastify to show the classrom as some of us were not feeling the best to speak in front of the classrom.  In my Inqiry Group Te-Raumati,Tyson, Moti and I worked collabortivtly to share our ideas on what we should write down. We also used our searching skills to help us write down some intersting facts.  I really enjoyed doing this as I learnt alot of new things about the olympics that first started in 77bc. I also enjoyed and really liked putting imagies onto the DLO as it shows alot more of detail about our learning.

Mindfulness Reflection #1


This week Panmure Bridge School is learning about Pause , Breathe and smile. We first started off by understanding the red zone and the green zone. The red zone is the Angry , Worried , Frustrated, Overly Excited and many more emotions. Green zone is when you are feeling calm, balanced, and other peaceful emotions. We did this session to learn how to stay calm and control our emotions. Today we did mindfulness breathing, webreathing, we closed our eyes and Mrs Anderson rang the singing bowl.


How did you feel at the end of the session? How I felt at the end of the session is really calm , relaxed and focused on what's happening right now instead of worrying about what's happening last night, yesterday , and tomorrow.  It helped me focus on myself and control my emotions thats going through my head(Mindset). 

We also needed Value ourself , listen to what our teacher is telling us to do , and having an nice calm quite time.We also needed to listen to the Mindfulness bell that helps us relax our body, that has to be treated as an tonuga, As it bang's it helps us focas on our breathing and haveing a great postive atitude.

Adding Maths Decimals

 L.I how to add decimals. 



For this DLO , Afa and I worked collabortivtley , shared our opinions , to understand the stagatey we are working on, For our groups we were understanding the stragtey we learnt for the past few days. 
I really enjoyed learning this activty as I learnt how to use decimals also knowing how to use it. We also worked collabortivtly to understand where we start from and how we can get the answer. We first watched videos to understand what we first needed to do , to try and get the correct answer to the right question. 


Flowcharts and Radio Chart

To understand how to get the microbot to talk to another microtbot , using radio signals.

The next activity today was coding the microbit to send a radio signal to another microbit. We had to make sure that both microbits were on the same group number so we didn't accidentally get a message from another group.

This DLO was desgined , to understand the Matariki Stars celebration that's going on this week , Our group created this DLO and compltedted it by working collabortivtely , understanding what,why,who and the matariki stars. We also started being creative and drawing our own stars. By creating this DLO we used our searching skills and looked through websites to find facts and information about the Matariki stars. Matariki takes place eahc year when the cluster of the stars knowen as Matariki. The new year is a time of new beginingins and is a time to embrace the trandtions.The new year is a time for new beginnings and is a time to embrace tradition . To strengthen our connections to Matariki we had a choice of research activities. I enjoyed this activty as I learnt more information about the Maori Cultures. Matariki Harvest Birds

This DLO , was created by Aisea , Vayan , Oscar and myself we decied to chose this task for one of our Matariki challenges , We also used our searching skill's to find out facts and information understanding and learning about the Matariki Harvest Birds. We searched it up by finding website's that give us really helpful information also to help us understand the birds that are traped from people to have as their hangi for the family feast. Coding in Phython

 L.I : To Learn how to code the Microbot in the Phyton.


For this example the buttons , the main thing to notice is "def" witch is defeing what the on_button_pressed will make to miscbitt do. Again this has a top and bottom so the content has to go insde it. 



The first one shows the Phyton coding for flashing heart. It flashes between a small heart icon and a large heart Icon. The Main thing to notice between the Phython coding and the blocks is the the forevea loop is the top and bottom of the content in both.

LS2 students created DLO's , understand what you want to achieve this year as your goals. For my goals I wrote how I wated to get into Howich Collage , get prize awards , have an 100% attendace , also with this DLO its also about who we are , such as I am a young tongan Female with a Full tongan Family , working in LS2 at Panmure Bridge School plus Sportsleader for 2021.  I enjoyed created this DLO as it give's me more confidents with the things I wanna achieve and Who we are identifyed as.  This acitvty I really found easy as it helps me with my knowladge. 


Greek Gods

  LI: To use our smart searching skills to find information about the Greek gods

 Today David shared his reading challenge with us. It is all about the Greek gods and helps us to practise the skills we have been learning in our reading lessons with our teachers.  David created this task as part of his CARE award challenges. We earn CARE award badges in year 7 and 8 to show that we understand our school values. In this activity we used our smart searching skills to find information to help us complete the table.

I found this activity interesting and fun because we got to learn new facts about the greek gods and we go to learn new Gods.

The Greek goddess I found most interesting was Hecate because Hecate is the daughter of the titans. She is mysterious and and crafty figure. She is the type of god to be feared

Our task was to create a DLO of writing a poem using a  abstract noun. Abstract nouns are things that we can feel but we can't physically touch it.The 5 senses are sight, hearing, taste, smell and feel. First we had to pick a word from the list. And me and my group choose luxury. After we picked the word, we looked for a structure  in a example of given to us.After writing the poem we had to make a poem of us describing the word we have picken.We really enjoyed this activity, because it taught us how to create metaphors and poems, using abstract nouns.

LI: To write an abstract noun sentence.


An abstract noun is something that can’t be physically touched, as in a feeling (happiness, fear, love, etc) also the 5 senses. This week, LS2 have been learning about Metaphors and Nouns. We got into groups and were introduced  on what is nouns , what we see in the poem ( The Structure) and the 5 senses. Our group created a Metaphor about happiness; Happiness is the blooming rainbow that shines when the sun comes out after the rain. A Metaphor is a comparison of two things without using ‘like’ or ‘as’.

The Maori creation story

 LI: To summaries the Maori story of creation. 



For inquiry we are learning about Taonga of storytelling or the treasure of storytelling cultural stories that have been passed down through our ancestors.  We learnt about the maori creation story and we also  summarised the story. We used this summarizing template to summarize the video that we watched of the maori creation story. The video told us about the story of papatuanuku and ranginui in the darkness and how they separated and how their son Tawhirimatea sent mighty storms and rain to show his rage. 


I really enjoyed this activity because I liked how we got to pick everything ourselves

Venn Diagram

  LI: Find as many similarity's and differences as you can between the video and the text of in the beginning.     
We watched a video about the Maori creation story and we also read a text that was also about the Maori creation story, when comparing them together there were some noticeable differences. Our task was to write down the differences and the similarities of the video version and the written version. Our group enjoyed doing this because it helped us know the difference between the two different   I enjoyed this task to because I liked how we had to find out what had happen.

Dialogue

 L.I To understand how to use and correctly punctuate dialogue when writing.                                                   



For this week's wirting sesson , we learned about Dialogue , dialogue means an converstion between charcters in the story , we first started off by using an website called Ifaketextmessages: Ifaketextmessage.com.  My Partner and I decied by writing the next five lines about how Mother Pig did want the three little pigs to stay with her anymore. Then we created a DLO explaning what is a Dialogue , We decied to write out example we did on our Ifaketextmessages to make it more easier for ourselfs and readers to understand what is a dalogue.  I found thsi acitvty intersting as we learned about what is a Dialogue , Where we put our punctionts as example we put an comma at the end and start of a senetence. We add a full stop at the end of a sentence. We learnt this by watching an video that gave us information on understanding about our punctions.

LI: To follow the rules and expectations, expected from teachers.



This weeks PB4L learning is about following classroom rules and expectations. PB4L is a acronym describing Positive Behavior for Learning. PB4L helps us understand the correct behavior for inside classroom learning and outer learning. This consist of Classroom discussions, walking to assembly, behaviour on school trips, wet day procedure eg. respecting wet day monitors. All of these prospects will help us develop a strong and healthy learning enviroment. I found this activity easy , as it helped us understood why its important to use our PB4L expecatations , at school also in class.

Student Lef confernces

 L.I To share out learning with our families , 

                                                                                       



This Evening , Panmure bridge School had student lef confrcnes , where we bring our families in to show them around the classrom's and talk about our work , I came into LS2 introducing my mum to my teacher's Mrs Fisi'iahi and Mrs Anderson , We walked around the classrom talking and showing what we created for the past dew week's. I enjoyed showing my work around and teaching my mum what I did and what I learned. 



Being a Jedi in Coding

 LI: To cde the robot to move backwards without touching it.




My robot will wait until I have pressed the on board button before I have done anything. We used an 'if'. 'then'. 'else' as this gives the robot two choices of things to do. We are using the ultrasonic sensor on the front of the robot to sense if there is anything within the 10 cm radius.  if there is something in 10cm  of in the robot or less than the robot will move backwards if not the robot will move forward, this is than put into a forever block that constantly reapeats itself trying to sense if theres anything within 10cm.

Cinquain Poem

L.I : To write a Cinquain Poem to decribe a sports star.  

                                                                             


We have been learning to write cinquain poems to help us strengthen our connections to description. A cinquain poem has 5 lines. Each line has a different purpose. Line 1 is a noun which is a name. Line 2 has 2 adjectives taht describe the noun. Line 3 has 3 verbs that end in ‘ing’ and describe the actions. Line 4 is a noun phrase which is a group of words (not a sentence) that go together to describe the noun. Line 5 is a synonym which is a word with a similar meaning to the noun. I enjoyed this activity because I enjoyed using Word hippo trying to find words that more deatiled and that describes the preson more as an example Nice -delightful .

This week is book week at Panmure Bridge School, which means every class participates in a number of reading activities. One of our activities was to create a reading pathway that shows how my favourite books have changed over time. At the moment I like reading Ghosts because it talks about how her catrina(Book Character) little sitter Maria , recovred for her sickness , they moved from town to town finding a place that would make her feel safer and better.

Football

On Wensday , the year 7,8,5,6,4 students went to Madvils Farm to play Football agensit schools girls and boys. The girls team ( The team I was playing in ) was an 5 a side team , we first played agensit Stones and won by 1-0 , we then played Ruapotoka school by 0-0 , another stonefields game 3-0 , glenbre 0 - 0. We had a lot of fun working as a team , kicking the ball , showing sportsmanship and leadership in sports. 

ASB Getwise

 L.I : To be wise with your money.                                                                                                                                                            

Today , an Staff from ASB (Auckland Saving's Bank)  came and had a chat with us about how to use your money wisley , named Marlon. He started off by playing an game to help us get more of our knowladge and understanding on money. The process is to Stop , think and make the right decsions with our money also to learn about how we can save and spend our money. For this game we acted like we're going on  a trip to Fiji, We needed to know how we could save and spend our money with Insurance , Food , Plane Tickets , Activites ,Hotel and Passort. .

Each group got $1800 as their budget , we needed to use our thinking by knowing how we can spend it wisely with thoese seven main challenges in the game. In my team , we worked collabortive , shared our opionons on what we should do with our if we should spend it or save it ? our first question was * an Passport now would be $200 and passport later would be higer , we our group decided to buy our Passport now as , it wouldn't be more expensive if we buy it later. 

We needed to make the right choices , so we could also get more pionts to win the game , at the end , we all counted our pionts and eveyone got the correct answer and the chose the correct choice's to spend and save money. For this I really liked and enjoyed talking with Marlon also talking with my teammate to pick the right choices on learning how to save and spend our money.

Summary about Money

L.I : To create an Summary about Money. 



                                                                                        


This week , My group read a text about Money. We talked about how money was used back in the days , how money was created ? Who created money ? What money looked like in ancient times. We then found 20 words that we thought were important from the story , then we chose the six most importan words , then we created a summary using these words. What I found most intersting was that ancient coins could had a square hole in the middle to thread on a string.

A Moment in Time Poem

 LI: To use the language features and structure of published poem to help use write our own poem.



We looked at the language features and structure of a poem called ‘A Moment in Time’ and used our experiences from camp to follow the structure and collaboratively create our own moment in time poem.To describe what we heard, what we saw, how we felt and what we wondered we used our senses, adjectives and adverbs.Ajectives are words that descrube the noun. Adverbs discribes the verbs I found this interesting as I talked about how I felt , What I saw , What I heard and what I wondered well I was doing the High Ropes at camp.

Settings

 LI: To use powerful words to describe a setting so that it paints a clear picture in the mind of the reader.


An setting is the place, time and environment of a story to help a reader make a connection to your narrative you need to use your words in away that helps them form a picture of what you are describing in their mind.To do this we looked at an image and thought of 10 words that described and showed what we could see. Once we had thought of the adjectives or adverbs we used our smart searching skills to help us find synoymns that made our descriptions clearer. I found this interesting because I used word hippo to help me find words that are more deatiled also to paint a picture in your mind.
