Maths Challenge

L.I:  To find the efficient strategy to answer the question.

LI: To find the most efficient strategy to answer the question

This week our group practiced finding the answer to written maths questions. To do this we needed to first find the numbers we were working with. We decided the most efficient strategy was to use our times table knowledge. Being able to find how many groups of a number made this strategy efficient. This activity showed me that I need to keep practicing my times tables so I have set this as a goal for myself.

Evaluating

LI: To read the information in the text, think about what you have read and form an opinion.

After reading our text we looked at the protests in Aotearoa over time. We decided as a group that the women's suffrage was the most important protest because it meant women were seen as equal after NZ won the right for women to vote first. This is our opinion after sharing our ideas and reading the information.

Today for  reading we read a book about protest that took place in New Zealand.  We used our reciprocal reading skills the read the book. We had to write questions we had about the book and words we didn’t understand and summarize and predict what was going on in the book. We then worked in pairs and made a summary about the book we read we had to write 20 important words then choose 6 and then sum it all up into a few sentences.

Cityscape of New York

L.I To write a description of my cityscape using Prepositions.

Did you know that the Statue of Liberty is turning green  because of acid rain caused by the high pollution levels in New York.
At the Left of my cityscape of New York you can see the famous Statue of Liberty it is easy to recognise because it is the tallest statue in New York.

I used cool colours for the background of my cityscape. The cool colours I used are dark blue and light blue. We used cotton wool to help us blend the colours in. To get these tones I added black and white to make the shades darker and lighter. I blended the light blue into the dark blue so it looked like a beautiful morning scenery.
