How to stay safe from a flood.

 L.I To create a DLO showing how to stay safe from a flood. 


This DLO talks about how to stay safe from a flood. Here are three simple steps that can help you stay safe from a flood. I really enjoyed doing this task because it was really easy to recreate cars,houses and water. This DLO can help you and others know what to do if a Flood happens. The most interesting thing I learned was to go to the highest point. 




Cybersmart / Teaching parents how to go on the Class blog.

 LI : To create an video showing parents how to go on the class blog. 



This video was created by Lily,Skashi,Afatia and I, We made a video telling other parents how to find the  class blog. We worked together by sharing our ideas,making a plan and collaborating together. This video helps us and others learn more on cybersmart and what people are achieving.  We can find out what kids are achieving by reading their blog posts.  This can also help you with finding the learning they need to do in lockdown. It can also help you with knowing what your kids/Siblings have done over the past few weeks.

We needed to answer the 10 questions that can help us understand what is a Powhiri. We shared our ideas and used our searching skills to find the answers to these questions, We also watched a video that can also help us with this task.  I learned from this task was a Koha is a Gift..

Flood Information

  L.I: To make a DLO about information for when there is a flood.

I made this slide show with my buddy and in this slide show it tells you what to do when there is a flood. A flood is when one whole destination gets covered up with water. In a flood you can swim or drive somewhere safe but you should never walk in the flood and the reason why you should never walk in a flood is because if the flood has fast moving water it can knock you over and it can cause injuries, you could drown or it could lead you to death. This DLO was made to keep people safe and healthy.

This is my DLO, My DLO talks about an a amazing person called Mary Anning, In my DLO I talked about Who she is,What she did,When she died,When she was born and more information about her, I also wrote 3 interesting facts about her that you may not know about her, The most interesting fact  I learned was that she created a book called Jurassic Coast Fossils, I really enjoyed making this DLO because I get to learn new information about her. I also used searching skills and looked for websites,videos. I really enjoyed reading the information on the websites and watching the videos.

Scientist Research: Biology(Jane Goodall )

 L.I To create an DLO about an Scientist Biology from the past.                                                          


I created a DLO for one of the task we are doing this week, I decide to do Jane Goodall, I picked her because she's trying her best to help others see what chimpanzees can do. I used my searching skills to find the information and facts from websites that you may not know about her.  The most interesting fact I learned was that Jane Goodall was introduced to chimpanzees when she was a little baby.  In my DLO I explained Who she is,What she did, Where she was born? and other interesting information about Jane Goodall.  I picked her because I didn't know who she was and what she did to make us happy until I created this DLO. I have learned a lot of new facts and information about her and really liked reading the information on other websites.    


 

Scientist Research: Chemistry


L.I To create an DLO about an Scientist Chemistry from the past.


For this task I and my buddy worked together to get this task done. I really liked sharing my ideas and telling my buddy what I know about Marie Curie. We wrote interesting facts and wrote information about Marie Curie. We explained who she is, The most interesting fact I learned was She has won the Nobel prize in chemistry in 1911.

This week for cybersmart, We learned about why we add pictures that connects to the text. I worked with Fau to get this task done and published. This DLO helps others by showing them why it is Important to link the photos to the information. I created a Vocaroo that explains why it is important and why it helps the readers understand about your DLO.  I really liked working with Fau because we shared our ideas and and really liked explaining it by using a Good example and a Bad Example.

Scientist Research: Physics

 L.I : To create a DLO the about a Physics scientist from the past. 



For this task, My group worked together to find the information about Albert Einstein, My group decided  to do Albert Einsten, We used our searching skills to find facts that you may not know about him , We also used our knowledge to write information about him. I really enjoyed working with my group because we shared our ideas and what we think we should put in our DLO.

Careers Pathway / Transaltor

L.I To create an DLO about your careers pathway.


This DLO shows what I will need to study to be a Translator. My Careers Pathway DLO helps me find the  important things I need to do to become a Translator, I deiced to be a Translator, I need to at least know 2 languages or more to be a Translator, I have to be able to write well, It will help me get a scholarship and graduate. This DlO helps me with what I need to do and how I can become a Translator.

Fitness Hit Challenge!

 L.I: To make our own Fitness Hit challenge.




This week my group worked together to complete this task, This task helps you with fitness while at home, The 2 fitness skills we picked were High knees and Lunges, We picked these two because it help us with our legs and to help our muscles in our legs.In this DLO, We also explained what are lunges and high knees and what they do.    Today I learned How High knees works and what it those to help us with our legs, and it helps us with our calves and quads.It also helps us with our balance and to improve your balance.

For this week, the year 7's made Mapo pork and eggplant, The Mapo pork and eggplant was really tasty as I could taste the beef mixed into the rice. I really loved cutting the onion into pieces and put it into the pan. I also loved mixing the beef into the onion.

Manaikalani helped Juniors.

L.I To help other students that need help with answering the survey. 







This week, the LS2 students helped little kids from Panmure Bridge School answer their survey.. We also gave them little games and tasks. I helped students from 1 to 3. This is leadership and showing kindness to the little kids. Helping them is alot fun we get talk about what they like and what they don't  like.

Dance Class

L.I To make shapes using our body parts. 

 
                                                                                              






Today LS2 had their first dance class with Mrs Rebecca, I had fun and really enjoyed moving around make shapes. We also  needed to collaborative to make a shape using our hand,legs,fingers and body parts. We needed to be in groups so that we can work together to  make the letter and make different shapes,objects and animals.  I really enjoyed making shapes and objects using our hands,fingers and bodyparts. 

Life Education

LI: To learn the safetys of Life Education.


 



This week, we attended two sessions of Life Education. Life Education is a program, which helps us with our health and to make the right pathway. For our first session, we watched two video clips about Cuppys Hauora/wellbeing. We then talked about different scenarios that happened to Cuppy. Each time one of Cuppy’s walls fell, we removed a colored stick. We also   sang, played games, talked about peer pressure, learnt about brains and found out more interesting information. We also got a chance to meet Harold. We enjoyed going to Life Education..


What is science?

L.I: To summarise the information.


                                                                                

                  

This week for our reading topic (science), we created a summary using the information from our post it notes. In our summary, we skimmed and scanned to find the important keywords. We also shared our ideas and collaborated to create our summary. For our next activity, we used a question dice to help us create three interesting questions that we wanted to research. We all worked together in these activities.


The three most interesting questions are:


  • When was science discovered? 

  • Why is science important?

  • How is science different from the past to today? 

What is Science?

L.I To find the three most vital ideas from the information to help us find the answer “What is science?”.



This week our reading topic is science. We watched a video which helped us understand what science is. While watching the video, we took notes, by selecting and rejecting the information. We used the information to identify the three most vital ideas. We shared our ideas amongst each other and negotiated on where to put the information on, whether it was 4 very important ideas or three most vital ideas. We also collaborated and respected each other's opinions for this activity.

We think the three most vital ideas are:
  • Science is an answer and has the power to destroy and heal.
  • Science includes physics, chemistry and biology.
  • Science is discovering new things.
