Duffy Assembly

LI: To understand how reading can change one's life.

For this week assembly Marc came to our school , and had a little converstion about his life with our students. He talked to us about what had happend , why it had happend , and how his life was diffcuilt for him when he was younger. As he was talking about his life , I got to learn more about how he took reading seriously and how reading is important. Marc believes that there is only CANs and not CAN’T witch will help us belive in ourselfs. What I learnt while in assembly was knowing that reading wont just help you but it will also help change your life like Marc. I found

Key Comprencies

L.I : To compare the Key Competencies we think we will use on camp and the Key Competencies we actually used.

Before we went to camp our challenge was to think about when we might use the Key Competencies as we faced the challenges.  When we came back from camp we looked at this and compared how we thought we would use the Key Competencies and how we actually used them. I really enjoyed this task because I get to rethink back to Camp , I also liked writing down Before Camp and After Camp.

LI: To collaborative brochure that tells others why kokako lodge is a great place to go on camp

Over the last week everyone challenged themselves during the session at archery, high roped, kayaking, raft building, camp cooking/pancake race, and team building, orienteering. Our group collaborating to create a brochure that shows others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp.

I found activity fun because I got to explain why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp.

Camp Collage

LI: To create a collage of your camp highlights

This week LS2 have been celebrating our camp. I created this collage to show my time at camp and the activities I enjoyed. To make my collage effective I thought about the size of the images, the angle of the images and I tried hard not to leave any gaps between the photos. This task was really fun cause I looked through photos and was really happy.

5 Minutes of Camp

LI: To recount a 5 minute snapshot of one experience you had at camp.

As I took my first step onto the ladder my legs felt like an earthquake was happening, as my hands turned bright red holding onto the pole trying to put my left leg onto the first staple.

As soon as I got to the top of the pole I slowly took my first step onto the beam, and held my rope tightly as the inside of me was screaming my lungs out. As I walked through the high beam my eyes started to get watery, dripping down my face as I took each step just hoping I wouldn't fall.

When I got to the other end I hugged the pole and I walked slowly back to the middle of the beam. While I tried walking, I looked down at my teammates who were below cheering and supporting me while I was doing star jumps.

As I heard "You can come down now..." my body started to shake. Our instructor told me to lean out and sit down as she slowly let us down. When I touched the ground I smiled and clapped with happiness.

Last week we went to camp at Kokako Lodge. My 5 minute snapshot shows my personal voice and I have tried hard to paint a picture with my words to describe what I was doing and how I felt. I found this task fun to do because I wrote about how I felt when I was on the high beams. I also liked working with my group also my partners by sharing our ideas , helping each other and working collaboratively.

North Island Inforgraphic

LI: To create an infographic using google draw that tells your audience facts about the kokako.

This week, everyone in LS2 has been given a set of different challenges based on our camp. For this activity we used our smart searching skills to find information about the North Island Kokako bird. We used our searching skills to find facts and information that will help us create our DLO. I found this task fun because my group worked collabortivtely and shared our ideas to add the information.
