Hauora

L.I To reflect the connections I have to Hauora. 




         This DLO talks about the 4 wall standing and what they create to make them more strong. The 4 walls build something so people are happy instead of being upset.  I worked with my team  to make the 4 wall stand strong.  I used images in my DLO to show you the 4 wall house that my group built.

This is my DLO, This DLO is about the 4 walls which is called Taha Whanau, Taha Wairua , Taha Tinana and Taha Hinengaro. Hauora is a Maori belief of health. Its tells meanings and information about the 4 walls. The 4 walls standing creates something strong to become more self-control.

Making connection to problem solving.

L.I To explore problem solving. 






 
Today we had a technical problem with our internet so we learnt about tangrams. We were challenged to make a tangram puzzle out of an A4 piece of paper and a pair of scissors. We listened carefully to and followed the instructions to create our shapes.   Tangrams  helped us understand more about problem solving as we were challenged to turn the shapes into different animals .  Tangrams are an ancient Chinese puzzle.  Problem solving is about following instructions, finding a solution, asking questions, communicating with other people and working together to solve the problem. All things we did today with this problem solving challenge.

6 Sentience's

L.I Use 6 sentences to set up the structure of a narrative.

(Story)


Jessica was in big trouble until a big green dragon came to her rescue.
She was surrounded by mountains standing tall up high in the sky. The dragon took off flying through the sky and into the clouds.Unfortunately Jessica was too scared to enjoy the ride.She hated heights and did not like flying on planes.Jessica closed her eyes and held on tight. 


Today my group wrote 6 sentence stories to help us take risks with our writing. We did this by sharing our ideas and writing sentence that drop hints about what was happening in the picture we chose to write about. We helped each other by suggesting ideas to each other to make our stories more interesting.

Experimenting with Ultraviolet light.

L.I To find the most effective UV filter.










LS2 has been trialling the electronic sensors for the kiwrious project. We are working with Surnga,Sonia,Evan,Dawn and Yuonne from the AHL at Auckland university.  What I found that the paper tail was the most efficient filter to keep Zally safe from the UV.

5-7-10 Sentiences

LI: To use the 5-7-10 process to write creatively.

(Story)

I didn’t expect that I would stay in my house for six weeks in lockdown because of Covid-19! Covid-19 is a very contagious virus so the government made the decision to ask all New Zealanders to keep safe by staying at home in their bubble.  

To me it felt like I was staying in jail with my family for a very long time! I would wake up every morning waiting for my breakfast to cook before I went on video calls with my friends and class. Every day of the school week was the same. This made the 6 weeks the most boring time of my life. 

What I did like was being able to cook food for my family. I really enjoyed doing this with my siblings. My favourite meal was pasta because I really liked the cheese inside that had melted and mixed into the macaroni elbows.




Today Cassius and I used the 5-7-10 challenge to help us with our writing skills. We could choose any sentence starter from the list and write about anything we liked.

Vollyball

L.I To use the sills of volleyball in a game situation.








This is our last volleyball section for the term volleyball. We practices how to use a dig,set,spike and a serve.  Mrs Alayna  helps us by playing games. The first game we played helped us with digging and serving the ball. We also played a game called King in the court. I think the dig was the hardest bit because I couldn't keep focus on the ball. I really liked the serve because it's more easier than the dig.

Food Tech / Pizza

L.I To make pizza. 






This is the last week for this term. The Year' 7s made pizza with Mrs Heka.  At food tech we followed the recipe to make beef and bbq pizza. The pizza tasted delicious and really yummy. The hardest part was making the meet the same size.

Gold Fish in goldfish bowl

This DLO shows what we made and how we made it. This game was really enjoying to play because it looked like  the fish was jumping into the water. We created a dlo that shows how we made it so you can make it a home as well.

L.I To compare this an now by using a Venn diagram.


In this Venn Diagram we compared this and now by using a venn diagram. I worked with Heavenly and Hosea to get this task finished. We used our searching skills to find these answers. Some of these answer were made in our head. We worked together and shared our ideas.

This DLO shows what is a optical Illusion and how an Optical Illusion happens. On this DLO it shows what Optical l Illusion means. We used one Optical l Illusion and found out what wrong with it. I worked with my group to find interesting information about optical l Illusion information. Mr Johnston also came in to help us with this.

This DLO shows interesting facts and information about 3 matariki harvesting birds. I worked with my group to find these interesting facts and information.  The three matariki harvesting birds we picked a Tui,Huia and Kereru.

Maths Game

L.I To practise defining maths vocabulary (Words)








To help us practise the meaning of maths words. Mrs Anderson taught us a game called maths word challenge. I worked with Diana and Pouvi on this game.  To play the game 2 players found a word from the maths word game,  then had to give a clue to the person trying to  figure out the math word who was sitting with their back to the other players.

This was our second matariki blog post about matariki. We had to summarise about matariki we had had to pick 20 important words from our knowledge about matariki. Also we had to pick 6 most important words, then we had to summarize those those words in sentence. 

Matariki Stars

This week for the Te Reo Challenge we have been given a challenge to create a drawing that showcases the Matariki stars. We were given the rule that we are not allowed to trace and use other stars. We needed to make the stars with our own design.  As you can see I made my drawing and have named them. .
