Food Technology / Tech

L.I To practise our knife skills. 
                                                        

This is our first week of Food Technology for the year 7's at Tamaki Collage. This week's food technology task we made colourful fruit salad. We used a yellow and green kiwi fruit, grapes and an orange. Our Food Technology teacher Mrs Heka helped us with our knife skills so that we don't cut ourselves. We needed to remove the skins from the fruit. We cut the two ends off so that the fruit would stop moving as we were cutting it. We cut the orange into segments, which was quite hard to do, but a lot of fun.

Current Events

L.I To find articles that's happening around the world.  

             
     

    I collaborate juel for this task. We both worked amazing and found some really good articles. We used our  knoladge and our reading skills to find more about the articles we are reading about. Some of these articles were really sad and some were really funny. The article that I found the most odd one was that a women got  fined for taking a turtle to work.

Ancestor Peom.

L.I Astronomers believe they have discovered a supernova at least twice as bright as anything previously recorded.



This DLO talks about my past,culture and my ancestors. LS2 students created poems about their ancestors and made them into powerful poems. The poem I wrote is about who I am right now and how my ancestors have influenced me so far.This Poem has helped me remember my ancestors and how they influenced me.

Steps / Activities

L. I- To learn how to make a sentience builder.

I did a Suffixes task the task that I was learning was a sentience builder. I learned how to build random words into a sentience. This task will help me with my learning and sentences. I also learned how to make sure that my sentences make sense and so the readers can understand what the sentience is.

For this amazing task I worked with Lily. We both Collaborate on this task. We used something called a Rule. A Rule is something tell the readers how to find the quickest  way. We used our 3 time tables and takeaway 1 from that question. I learned from this task was find the quickest to find the answer, my time tables and takeaways.

I made a Interesting Rainbow Slide. Our Teacher made a Design for us to make it into something. I made the design into a Water Slide. I had a lot fun and learned alot. The one I learned most was making it into a Water slide. First I thought I should make into a Kiwi but I thought and My mum said why don't I make a Water Slide.

Maui Slowed the Sun / Haiku Challenge 3 and 4


L.I To learn about how Maui slowed the sun.


I worked with Juel on this task we both worked fanatically on this task also we both retell the story when Maui slowed the sun.

This task was about making sure we know what happens when Maul slowed the sun. 

The one I found interesting was that Maui slowed the sun and had the strength  to defeat the sun.

L.I To learn how make a Haiku into 3 verses

This task is about how to make an Haiku into a Story. I made a story about the trees making a story about the trees were super fun to do. I learned was how to make an a  Haiku into a Story. My story is about a lost  boy who could find his mum. If you read the rest you will find out what happens  next.

Te Reo Maori | Weather

L.I To learn how to say weathers in Maori.

I and Fau worked fanatically on this task. I and her have learned a lot. The one thing we learned the most was saying Maori weathers. For this task we needed to translate Maori to English so the reader's can understand how to say the word in Maori. I and Fau have worked together and finished it together so we can understand   how to say Maori weather words.

Extra Research / Haiku Poem

LI: to create a DLO about what a haiku poem is. 

Today Fau and I completed one of the weekly tasks set out for us. For this task we created a DLO about what a haiku poem is. A haiku poem is a traditional Japanese poem, it consists a count of 17 syllables. The first line is 5 syllables, the second line is 7 syllables and the third line is 5 syllables again. Using our smart researching skills we found out that haiku in Japanese is spelt like this 
俳句" . Haiku poems weren't always called haiku, the previous name was hokku. Fau and I worked together fantastically.



Art & Crafts / Face / Puzzle!

L.I To make an design with that drawing.

This task is about Art and Crafts. Our Teacher made a design for LS2 students. We had to try and make  something with the design  Mrs Anderson made. I deiced to turn the design Mrs Anderson made into a face as Afatia made a puzzle. Making the face was really fun to do because I liked drawing the ears because it was the hardest and the I get to learn something new.


Haiku / Trees / Mountains / Reading

L.I To learn how to write a Haiku and what is a Haiku.

This task is about learning what is a Haiku and How to write a Haiku. I worked with Afatia on this task. This task was really interesting because I learned new facts and information. We both deiced to do Trees and Mountains. The most interesting facts I learned was that the first sentience is a 7 syllable then a 5 syllable Sentience an another 5.

I made a video showing how to make a DLO about your learning. My DLO was about how and why we attribute images. Making this DLO was really fun. This video would help you if you don’t know how yo make a DLO about your learning.

Confident badge / 4 / Play a Simple game with my Family!

I made a little game for my little brother and I called Treasure Hunt. My mum hid coloured pencils around the lounge. I found 12 and he found 14 colour pencils. There were 17 pencils that hid around the lounge. I thought I would make it a bit harder so I decided we only had 5 minutes to find the coloured pencils. We had a lot of fun!

This is one of my Confident badges tasks. I did this because I wanted my teacher Mrs Anderson to learn something new. I am full Tongan so I knew how to count in Tongan from 1 to 10. I made a video showing her a way that could be easier then trying to say it!.
