Football

On Wensday , the year 7,8,5,6,4 students went to Madvils Farm to play Football agensit schools girls and boys. The girls team ( The team I was playing in ) was an 5 a side team , we first played agensit Stones and won by 1-0 , we then played Ruapotoka school by 0-0 , another stonefields game 3-0 , glenbre 0 - 0. We had a lot of fun working as a team , kicking the ball , showing sportsmanship and leadership in sports. 

ASB Getwise

 L.I : To be wise with your money.                                                                                                                                                            

Today , an Staff from ASB (Auckland Saving's Bank)  came and had a chat with us about how to use your money wisley , named Marlon. He started off by playing an game to help us get more of our knowladge and understanding on money. The process is to Stop , think and make the right decsions with our money also to learn about how we can save and spend our money. For this game we acted like we're going on  a trip to Fiji, We needed to know how we could save and spend our money with Insurance , Food , Plane Tickets , Activites ,Hotel and Passort. .

Each group got $1800 as their budget , we needed to use our thinking by knowing how we can spend it wisely with thoese seven main challenges in the game. In my team , we worked collabortive , shared our opionons on what we should do with our if we should spend it or save it ? our first question was * an Passport now would be $200 and passport later would be higer , we our group decided to buy our Passport now as , it wouldn't be more expensive if we buy it later. 

We needed to make the right choices , so we could also get more pionts to win the game , at the end , we all counted our pionts and eveyone got the correct answer and the chose the correct choice's to spend and save money. For this I really liked and enjoyed talking with Marlon also talking with my teammate to pick the right choices on learning how to save and spend our money.

Summary about Money

L.I : To create an Summary about Money. 



                                                                                        


This week , My group read a text about Money. We talked about how money was used back in the days , how money was created ? Who created money ? What money looked like in ancient times. We then found 20 words that we thought were important from the story , then we chose the six most importan words , then we created a summary using these words. What I found most intersting was that ancient coins could had a square hole in the middle to thread on a string.

A Moment in Time Poem

 LI: To use the language features and structure of published poem to help use write our own poem.



We looked at the language features and structure of a poem called ‘A Moment in Time’ and used our experiences from camp to follow the structure and collaboratively create our own moment in time poem.To describe what we heard, what we saw, how we felt and what we wondered we used our senses, adjectives and adverbs.Ajectives are words that descrube the noun. Adverbs discribes the verbs I found this interesting as I talked about how I felt , What I saw , What I heard and what I wondered well I was doing the High Ropes at camp.

Settings

 LI: To use powerful words to describe a setting so that it paints a clear picture in the mind of the reader.


An setting is the place, time and environment of a story to help a reader make a connection to your narrative you need to use your words in away that helps them form a picture of what you are describing in their mind.To do this we looked at an image and thought of 10 words that described and showed what we could see. Once we had thought of the adjectives or adverbs we used our smart searching skills to help us find synoymns that made our descriptions clearer. I found this interesting because I used word hippo to help me find words that are more deatiled also to paint a picture in your mind.

Pulleys

 L.I : To use our smart searching skills to find out about pulleys.



These DLO's showing above is about an Diagram showcasing an Labelled Diagram about an Inclined Plane , Screw and a Pulley. We did this by reading and understanding the meaning , and watching video , we also did this by writing down notes to help us create our summary. In my group I worked with Te Raumati , Tyson , Moti and Siale. We also created an 25 word summary that helps the readers understand what is an Inclined Plane , What is an Screw and What is an Pulley. We also really enjoyed finding images and tracing them out to help us create our Diagram, then we also labelled our drawing's to make it easier for our readers to understand.

Did you know that cockroaches have many senses that help them avoid danger

As a group we read and discussed the text, and finding any of our unknown vocabulary. After that we summarized the text, and  discussed with each other any of the facts that we found interesting. We enjoyed working together and discovering more about cockroaches and their surival techniques.

For this task I liked learning about Isaac Newton , and finding about what he did to become one of the most famouest scientest in the world.
